Womens Hockey Winter Olympics
In a few short weeks, the 2010 Winter Olympics kicks off in Vancouver, and women’s hockey winter Olympics is slated to be one of the most watched events.
While men’s hockey has dominated winter sports as a favorite pastime for a number of years, there has been a recent increase in interest in women’s hockey games. Preliminary rounds in the Winter Olympics women’s hockey games are scheduled to begin February 13, with Sweden taking on Switzerland at noon at the Canada Hockey Place event center in downtown Vancouver.
Later that day, the Canada women’s hockey team is expected to make its first preliminary show at 5pm in a game against Slovakia. The first preliminary women’s hockey game for Team USA is scheduled for February 14, as the US women’s hockey team faces off against China. Later that day, Finland will also take on the Russian Federation.
Womens Hockey in the 2010 Winter Olympics
2010 Winter Olympics Women’s hockey preliminary rounds are expected to continue through February 20, with the US team playing on February 16th and 18th. Following the preliminary rounds, the women’s hockey play-offs and classification games are scheduled to take place February 22, followed by two days of men’s hockey play-offs and finals.
The women’s hockey 2010 Winter Olympics bronze and gold medal games are expected to take place on February 25 at 11 am and 3:30pm, and will be televised globally on a number of local stations.
